Modern Ag Alliance Connects with Agricultural and Legislative Leaders Across the Country

Summer is a busy season for agriculture, and for the Modern Ag Alliance, it has also been an important time to connect with farmers, partners and policymakers across the country.

Over the past several weeks, MAA has participated in industry conferences, partner meetings and legislative gatherings throughout the South, Midwest and West. These events have provided valuable opportunities to strengthen relationships, hear directly from agricultural leaders and advance conversations about science-based policy and farmers’ continued access to essential crop protection tools.

Connecting Across Agriculture

MAA’s summer engagement began at the Southern Region Commodity Conference in Savannah, Georgia, followed by the Southern Association of State Departments of Agriculture Annual Meeting in Cambridge, Maryland, and the Midwest Association of State Departments of Agriculture Annual Meeting in Madison, Wisconsin.

These gatherings brought together commodity groups, agriculture officials and industry leaders to discuss the issues shaping American agriculture and the policies farmers need to remain productive and competitive.

MAA also was the keynote address in the Idaho Eastern Oregon Seed Association Summer Convention and the Florida Fertilizer & Agrochemical Association Annual Meeting, sharing the Alliance’s perspective on modern farming, science-based regulation and the importance of maintaining access to effective agricultural tools.

Engaging Policymakers

MAA continued its outreach at the Council of State Governments South Southern Legislative Conference in Lexington, Kentucky, and the Midwest Legislative Conference in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Through presentations and conversations, the Alliance helped connect agricultural priorities with the policymakers whose decisions affect farmers, rural communities and the broader food system.

Strengthening the Coalition

Each event offered an opportunity to deepen relationships with existing partners, build new connections and elevate the perspectives of the farmers and agricultural organizations that make up the Modern Ag Alliance.

As the summer continues, MAA remains focused on bringing agricultural stakeholders and policymakers together to support practical, science-based policies that help farmers continue feeding, fueling, and clothing the nation.
